Happy Tuesday, everyone! When I first started Hyde Park PR, it was tricky finding media outlets that would give early-stage startups and founders the time of day.

I was hard-pressed to find writers covering “startups” that weren’t Apple, Google, Uber, or Amazon. After some trial and error, I managed to curate a short list of outlets that were almost always willing to profile startups with little to no media reputation, which is what I’m sharing with you today.

Scroll to the bottom of this newsletter for the list. But first, we have a slew of national media opportunities with urgent deadlines…

Today’s Media Opps 📰✨

  • Submission deadlines are listed below. If you need pitching tips, refer to this post.

  • The full list of opportunities and occasional last-minute media opps will be shared with PAID subscribers only.

  • If you’re a journalist with a media request to share with our community of tech and lifestyle startups, please send them to hello@hydeparkpr.com.

Parents

Deadline: ASAP

Lauren Brown West Rosenthal is working on a piece about the "brat girl summer" trend which FYI, is NOT what you think). It began with Charli XCX and her album called "Brat" that takes back the "traditional" meaning of the word and instead inspires girls to unapologetically be themselves and "have attitude, but not an attitude problem" or "let their freak flag fly, without ever feeling the need to apologize for it."

Looking for experts (therapists, social workers, trend experts, etc) to weigh in on both the positives AND negatives of embracing the term "brat girl" and the trens overall. Is this ultimately empowering and important lessons for young girls to take from to build confidence, self esteem and their voice? Or are there hidden dangers or things parents should be aware of with this term, etc? This is for parents so focusing on what parents need to know, etc.
